Xenophobic countries? 

U.S. President Joe Biden upset Japan and India with his comments about them not liking immigrants. Japan and India disagreed and said they are open to people from other countries.

Biden mentioned Japan and India along with Russia and China, saying they're having economic problems because they don't welcome immigrants like the U.S. does.

Japan and India are both friends with the U.S. They work together to deal with China. But they didn't like Biden's comments.

India's minister said India welcomes people from all over the world. He also said India's economy is growing faster than some other countries.

Biden made these comments at a fundraising event where many donors were Asian American. He said the U.S. economy is strong because of immigrants. He pointed out China, Japan, Russia, and India as countries that don't want immigrants.

Japan has been strict about letting people from other countries live there. But lately, they've been making it easier for foreign workers to come.

India made a new law about citizenship. It helps people from certain religions become citizens faster. But some people say it's not fair to everyone.
