World’s first eye transplant (Beginner)
In New York, doctors did something amazing. They completed the first whole-eye transplant in a person.
The surgery took 21 hours and was a big success. The person, Aaron James, still can't see with his new eye because it's not talking to the brain yet. But the eye seems healthy. Blood is flowing through the vessels. Dr. Eduardo Rodriguez is very excited about this historic step. Doctors never thought this would be possible.
Aaron had an electrical accident at work that hurt part of his face. Scientists hope that this opens doors for future successful eye transplants.
